Low Income Inclusion Lead

DEPARTMENT: Participant Wellness
RESPONSIBLE TO: Participant Wellness, Fineants (tickets)
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Low Income tickets, Low income tickets processing volunteers.

PURPOSE:

To make Nowhere more accessible to those on lower incomes. To advocate for those participants on lower incomes to ensure their needs are considered during NOrg decision making processes. To coordinate the Low Income ticket application decision making process, including recruiting and co-ordinating other volunteers on that team. To work with the Tickets and Comms teams to ensure that Low Income ticketing runs smoothly.

DUTIES/TASKS:

Pre-Event

  • Participate in online Inclusion planning meetings
  • Be involved in discussions about Low Income ticket pricing
  • Help the tickets team by setting up a timeline, forms and processes.
  • Co-ordinate the Low Income ticket application process, including recruiting team members to assist with the decision making process.
  • Be point of contact for, and answer queries from, LI participants.
  • To advocate for LI participants within NOrg.

On-Site

  • Attend ticket team meet-up.

Post-Event

  • Complete a Post Nowhere Review and document how the year went and propose improvements for the next year
  • Participate in an Inclusions wrap up meeting
  • Participate in the All Leads Meeting if possible
  • If stepping down, document role, update this JD, and hand over to the new Lead

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Required attributes:

Fluent(ish) in English Passionate about Nowhere and Inclusion Organised and keen to Get Stuff Done! Good communication skills Standard IT skills: spreadsheets, email, social media Compassion and empathy Responsive and good at working to deadlines

“Nice to have” Attributes, but not mandatory:

Experience of volunteering at Nowhere or a similar event Has previously attended Nowhere Speaks French or Spanish Experience of managing a small team

TIME COMMITMENT:

Pre-event: An hour or two a week, considerably more during the Low Income Ticket application process which happens in January/February. On-site: Very little, if any! Post-event: An hour or two a week immediately following Nowhere as well as attending and participating in Annual Leads Meeting if possible.
