Nowhere needs you!

Nowhere is starting to take shape for July 2008, and this is where you come in. It's a small event that relies on everyone who goes to participate. Volunteering is at the core of this. Every single person who makes Nowhere happen is an unpaid volunteer – it's a great way to get involved, learn some new skills and meet people.
Oh yeah, and it's pretty fun too!
So have a look at the list of volunteering areas below and email volunteer@goingnowhere.org about anything that interests you.
Art team: helps artists bring their work to the event, runs the art grants process, provides advice and support and arranges placement on site. They also provide Nowhere citizens with information about the art.
Census: helps us figure out just how many of us there are and where were all from. We counted 191 people and 1 dog from 23 different countries in 2007. Want to help the count this year?
Communications and web: the mouthpiece of Nowhere, publishing the survival guide, running the website and all things email. Mostly involves work in the lead up to nowhere and some year round site maintenance.
Costume camp: Nowhere's own dressing up box, volunteers are needed to help sort and lay out the costumes, and maintain the space during the event, offering fashion advice and critique is optional. Helpers are also needed before and after the event to wash, sort, pack and unpack.
Crew kitchen – Werkhaus: feeds and waters our crew. Volunteers get to help to run the kitchen, take care of crew needs and feel loved by many hungry workers.
Decorating: anyone who likes to get a little bit creative or who wants to help decorate our communal spaces should let us know. Some of this will be done on site but if you have the energy and time to make some things in advance or to be involved in planning decor then we want to hear from you.
Erektions crew: these men and women are the power horses that get up all of Nowhere's communal structures. We love carpenters and builders, but anyone with some basic skills and/or a strong back is welcome. Erektions people are needed in the week before Nowhere and to take it all down again in the two-three days afterwards.
Fluffers: the all-important people who help to keep our crew watered, sun-screened up and in good humour.
Gate: these people are the entry point of the event. Ticketing and checking in participants, they work in shifts from a few days before until the end of the event.
Greeters: responsible for welcoming all participants onto the site, they make Nowhere's first impression. Information givers and enthusiastic protagonists, they work in shifts too.
Info desk: the info team will man an info desk which helps to provide Nowhere's citizens with volunteer opportunities and generally point people in the right direction.
Lighting, Sound, and Visuals: people with experience in this, or a very strong interest, needed.
Clean up and leave no trace: anyone with a day or two to spare at the end of the event is encouraged to sign up and learn how to party hard and make it all disappear in a matter of days.
Malfare: is the safe space at Nowhere where problems of a personal, medical or safety nature can be dealt with. The team mans a tent 24 hours a day and is responsible for co-ordinating with local emergency services. Skilled volunteers are essential but we also need people with good listening skills, healing experience and/or a level head.
Middle of Nowhere: our large communal shade/ workshop space /open mike stage needs people to make sure the space is a central hub for the event. Anyone with a keen eye for design, decorating or an interest in helping co-ordinate workshops would enjoy this.
Obtanium: helps to centrally co-ordinate our materials, hardware and tools. Roles involve liaising with construction crews and good organisation.
Signs: responsible for helping to design and make signs and/or to put them up in the right places. Parts of this job can be done from anywhere with designs sent to the site.
Site layout and theme camp co-ordination: plans our town, places theme camps, central infrastructure and art. Also supports and communicates with theme camps before, during and after the event.
Translations: co-ordinates translation of our announcements, survival guide and website into the many different languages of our fair citizens.
If you don't see any areas here that take your fancy...come up with something yourself. If you're already working on a project and need a hand, tell us about it we can throw a few recruits your way.

- previous experience of Nowhere, Burning man, other survivalist/camping activites or anything you consider relevant
- any skills you currently possess, or wish to develop at Nowhere 2008
- any other commitments you will have during nowhere, such as theme camp involvement or personal art projects
- languages spoken, if more than one
- any restrictions on your choice of work? eg, bad back keeping your from construction but love power tools?
- and anything else you want to tell us.

Nowhere. Esta creado para realizarse en el mes de julio 2008, y esto es donde tu participas..
Nowhere. Es un evento del cual depende de la participaci�n de todos los que van, a Ser Voluntariso en el centro.
Cada persona que hace. Nowhere, son personas que intervienen voluntariamente, sin una remuneracion- es una manera altruista para ayudar e involucrarse y aprender algo nuevo y conocer mas gente!
Y tambi�n, lo pasas muy bien!
Entonces, mira la lista de las �reas a las que puedes integrarte para ayudar voluntariamente, las cuales se mencionan mas adelante y mandar un email a volunteer@goingnowhere.org sobre todo que te puede interesar.
El Equipo de Arte: Conciste en ayudar artistas, traer su arte al evento, dirigir el proceso de becas, dar consejos y apoyo, indicando donde va hacer el evento, logistica. Asimismo dar a conocer a los ciudadanos, la informaci�n y participacion en fechas y horarios de cada evento sobre el arte.
Censos: Identificar la Nacionalidad de los participantes, su edad, la cantidad con la cual se tiene. El a�o pasado se tuvo un numero aproximado de 191 personas y una mascota, un (perro) de 23 pa�ses diferentes en 2007. Quieres ayudarnos este a�o?
Comunicaciones y Red: Es el frente de Nowhere, en el cual se publica la gu�a de sobrevivir, dirigiendo la pagina web y todo de que sea email. La mayoridad del tiempo est� involucrado en la preparacion hasta el dia del evento de Nowhere, y un poco de mantenimiento todo el a�o.
El Camping de Vestidos: El vestuario perfecto de Nowhere, para compartirlo y/o prestar el que que ya se tiene en el almacen. Necesitamos voluntarios para organizar los vestidos y ponerlos a la vista de todos, mantenerlos en buen estado y secuencia durante todo el evento. Necesitamos ayuda tambi�n antes y despu�s del evento para lavar, separar, hacer y deshacer las maletas.
El Equipo de Cocina: (Werkhaus) Son los que preparan y dan la comida y agua a nuestros trabajadores voluntarios, ustedes pueden ayudara dirigir la cocina, cuidar los necesidades del equipo, y sentir el amor de todos los trabajadores hambrientos.
Decoraci�n: Alguien que le gusta la creatividad, personas que quieran ayudarnos a decorar nuestros espacios communes, interactuando con nosotros de las necesidades del evento. Si tienes energ�a y tiempo para participar y realizar algo creativo, participa para planear decoraciones, queremos saber de ti!
El equipo de Construccion: Estos hombres y mujeres son los pilares, quienes montan todos de los estructuras de Nowhere. Necesitamos Carpinteros y constructores, pero cualquier persona con experiencia basica en madera y/o un espalda fuerte es bienvenido�
Fluffers: Las personas mas importantes, quien proporciona agua, proteccion solar, y buen humor.
Gate: Estas personas son el punto de llegada por el evento. Taquilla, y check-in de participantes, trabajan en cadena, desde unos dias antes hasta final de evento.
Greeters: Son los responsables de la bienvenida a todos los participantes en el evento. Ellos hacen la primer impresion del evento. Ellos dan informacion y son protagonistas emocionados. Ellos trabajan en cadena tambien.
La mesa del informacion: Controlara y ayudara a proporcionar a los cuidadanos del material que contiene los programas del evento, incluyendo los horarios y direcciones.
Luz, Sonido, VIsuales: Gente con experiencia en el areea, apropiado para cada evento, con gran participacionny entusiasmo.
Limpieza del area que fue ocupada : Se necesita la participacion de un grupo de personas para realizar en un dia o dos, al final del evento la limpieza en general de dicho evento, junto con nosotros y festejo el cierre final.
Centro de Nowhere: Se require de un coordinador de los talleres en el espacio comun, y sombra necesita gente para asegurar el espacio central durante el evento. Alguien con experiencia para el dise�o grafico y decoracion, coordinacion, en los talleres.
Obtanium: Es la que ayuda coordinar, centralmente nuestra materiales, herramientas, y material de construccion. Los roles son, ser liason con el equipo de construccion, y un buen organization
Carteles: Responsables por ayudar en el dise�o y poner los en sus sitios correctos. Un parte de este trabajo puede ser hecho de qualquier locacion en los dise�os mandados al evento.
Dese�o de Sitio y coordinacion de los camps de temas: Hacer planning de nuestro pueblo, poner camps de temas, infrastructura central, y arte. Tambien apoyar y comunicar con los camps antes, durante, y despues el evento.
Traducciones: Coordinar las traducciones de nuestros anuncios, la guia de sobrevivir, y pagina web por todos las idiomas de nuestros cuidadanos y participantes.
