In 2006 we are being housed by the mighty Burrow project. Thank you to the beneficent ones.
Massage area 2006?
Kaat and Rowena and any other willing set(s) of hands will create a massage space in 2006.
Want to help out with this project? Please volunteer. We need decorating materials, massage matresses and masseurs.
Last year the lovely Kaat offerred shoulder, neck and facial luxury treatment, scalp sensation and the “yes please spoil my feet” treatment. I'm sure she will spoil us with such delicacy again.
Rowena can treat you to full body relaxation or therapeutic (make it hurt!) massage to ease away the knots created in those dance-crazed nights/days.
What does this involve?
Decorating Massage Space
Arranging oils, tissues, cleansing wipes, cushions, towels
Checking massage area is left clean & tidy
Offerring massage / other treatments to participants
OILS
Essential oil blends were gifted by Kat (aka /Ne Ko) in 2005
Oils blended – lots of insect repelling blends – containing essential oils such as lemongrass, citronella, enlivening oils containing black pepper, rosewood, sumptious oils containing rose, frankincense, sandalwood etc.
Necesseties:
– Carrier oil (such as almond oil)
– Small cooler box for essential oils as they are volatile and won't react well to being left around in scorching temperatures
– plastic tub / basin for feet washing
– baby wipes
– towel / blanket to cover clients (especially in evening when growing cold)
DECORATION
I would say that any addition to decor in the dome would be appreciated by Burrow team.
Future Considerations from 05 experience
Time to Massage:
During the daytime, it was too hot to feel comfortable to be massaged and too cold at night time. The optimum time for massage seemed to be early morning or early evening.
Massage Workshop
If people are interested in holding a massage workshop I suggest the best time would be early Friday morning,
Bookings – taking “bookings” was actually quite difficult to do as the people who seemed to most desparately need massages were difficult to pin down under their allotted time. Rather than taking bookings, I think having an allocated space and materials will suffice.
Lighting – Lighting & power for the dome seemed to be considered very much at the last minute. /Mi Chelle? and I supplied 2 sets of rope lights and 1 UV light for the Dome which provided some amount of light in the dome, creating ambient atmp However it was too dark for the costume camp!
