Burrow Project – Nowhere 2006

Welcome to the Burrow citizens! Feel free to explore and indulge at your pleasure.

Nowhere 2006 will witness the creation of the Burrow Project Theme Camp, a tactile, sensory experience through the overground to the underground, overt to covert, light to dark, rough to smooth; you get the idea. Encompassing different zones in the one network, the burrow allows you to find the space most suited to your mood, desires and importantlyy…height! The Burrow network is comprised of 3 geodesic domes linked by tunnels, each with a distinctly different atmospheres.

• Outer Dome: Welcomes you into the burrow network, open, vibrant colours, lush, high energy event space.

• Median Dome: Journey deeper and you encounter a more sensual space, tactile fabric, relaxing chill space.

• The Nest: The end of the burrow finds you in its most underground space, intimate, darker and alternative space.

Nowhere citizens you are cordially invited to join our fledgling camp, we plan to grow and evolve into our theme and the focus this year is on establishing the camp infrastructure. Shape your experience and others directly, join us! Virgins we need your energy, veterans we need your experience. Camp infrastructure will be designed to support between 10–20 people, basic layout available below:

Looking for people to volunteer for the following roles:

• Median Dome Décor Guru – Everything decorating related to the median dome – Please Liase With /Twinkle Bee
• Cleaning Chief – Takes care of cleaning duties, recycling, etc – Please Liase with Lizzie
• Sound Technician – In charge of creating and maintaining the sound system
• Lighting Organisor – Functional and fun night lighting
• Shower Bitch – Constructs and oversees the camp shower (I suggest to combine the efforts with Foaming Stations)
• Quartermaster – Co-ordinates the camp supplies, buying, storage, etc.
• Event Ringmaster – Herds all the artistic cats into some sort of schedule
• Asskicker – Problem solver, bit of muscle, general enforcer.

The burrow also offers a space for you to showcase your art project, hold an event to entertain/ amuse your fellow Nowhere citizens or simply relax and unwind in after a hard day on the plateaux. Contribute something funky, blinky, loud, fun, squidgy, edgy, pink, fluffy, whatever you desire, we are offering you an opportunity, “participation*” is the word people. There will be a basic sound system, some simple lighting and of course the ubiquitous el-wire adorning the domes, if you can advise or offer assistance on any aspect then let us know.

FOOD

The project is going to provide a kitchen and all cooking essentials.
We're going to have communal evening meals,
decent food but nowt too fancy cooked by different volunteers every night.
